Mount Rainier Ice Caves
3 years of successive expeditions to the Mount Rainier Ice Caves with some of the greatest earth scientists. The network of caves melted into the glacier ice by the hot volcanic fumes spiting out of the crater are thought to hold answers to some interesting questions. Scientists believe this extreme environment might be as close as we can get on earth to the conditions living organism might deal with on other planets. The caves have therefore become of interest to those wondering if me might ever find life elsewhere in the universe. Stories successively shot for: National Parks Magazine, The Seattle Times and the National Geographic Society. Photos also published by Petzl and Outdoor Research.
